It may come on over a few days or suddenly without any warning. Also there may be bleeding from your vagina. This may be heavier or lighter than your usual monthly period, and it may be a different color. It’s possible that you will also have symptoms such as diarrhea, feeling or being sick, dizziness and light-headedness.
As mentioned, one may experience ectopic pregnancy as a result of a sexually transmitted disease. Chlamydia is the most common cause of pelvic inflammatory disease. The inflammation can damage the fallopian tubes and may lead to them becoming narrowed or scarred. This means that if an egg is fertilized, it will take longer to travel down the fallopian tube to the womb and so may implant in the tube instead.
There are several ways to check if one is experiencing ectopic pregnancy. If one is not if she is pregnant or not but has noticed signs of ectopic pregnancy, a pregnancy test will have to be conducted first. If the test is positive, you will have an ultrasound scan to see if there is a fertilized egg in your womb. And since it is a result of STDs, one may seek for an STD test. If one is detected to be positively infected with STD especially Chlamydia and gonorrhea, then the pregnant patient is at risk to have ectopic pregnancy. Treatment should immediately be given to the patient. But treatment may differ since the patient is pregnant. Treatment should also be safe for the baby.
