Early Egyptians believed that Germination would indicate pregnancy.  Furthermore, a gender of the baby is determined depending on which grain would germinate first.

Similarly, the procedure done by the early Egyptians and modern pregnancy testing uses the urine of a possible pregnant as a medium for testing. Scientifically, the placenta of a pregnant woman secretes a hormone known as Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG).  HCG will soon show up on woman’s urine or blood after fertilization.

Furthermore, the pregnancy test strip has three lines which would easily indicate a positive or negative result for pregnancy. These lines are Reaction zone, Test zone and Control zone. Each line contains a substance that detects a possible presence of HCG in the urine. It usually would take for about two to three minutes before you can actually see the result. Two lines indicate that a person is positive for pregnancy while one line signifies negative pregnancy.
